House of Providence,
Kingston ON
Dear Mother Edward,

On looking through the contract I found the following among the items for which “special prices” were given: –

“Staining & varnishing dressed woodwork (Arcade etc. etc. between nave and aisles, & work over) ‘ $48.00.

Mr. McCartney has written for a certificate for $2,000. Before sending it I would be glad to know how much he has already been paid on account of contract. He has made no mention of the work done or remaining to be done.

I am, Dear Mother Edward,
Yours Most Respectfully
Joseph Connolly, Archt.
