Sept. 14, 1892 – To General Superior Sr. M. Edward, Kingston ON from Ignatius, Archbishop of Dannietta for the Cardinal Prefect, Rome, Italy

Rome
Sept. 14, 1892
Reverend Mother

Your letter, dated 8th August last, in reference to the separation of the House of the Sisters of Providence, Holyoke, from the parent house in Kingston of which you are the Superior, has been submitted to this Sacred Congregation.

The Sacred Congregation decreed the separation solely for the sake of restoring peace, not because your government was at fault.

With respect, however, to the money arrangement to which you bring our attention, I have communicated with the Bishop of Springfield, whose reply I await.

In the meantime praying that all things may be for you auspicious in the Lord, I remain,
Most faithfully in Christ,
Ignatius, Archbp of Dannietta for the Cardinal Prefect
