July 19, 1895 – To Mrs. McRae from General Superior Sr. M. Edward, Kingston ON

July 19, 1895
My Dear Mrs. McRae

Miss M. A. McDonald, Lot 4 in Con 9, Charlottenburg, Greenvalley P. O. wrote me some time ago asking admission to our Novitiate and a few days ago I received a letter from Rev. Father Fitzpatrick. As we are required by our rule to be very exact about admitting persons who have already entered another Community I take the liberty of asking you, my dear friend, to give me any information you can concerning this young person, who, I understand, has been teaching for you this year.

I have been told that before she entered the Convent at Hochelaga, her mind was a little disturbed, of course, if that be the case you must know it, and I will be most grateful if you tell me.

What I have written and whatever your reply may be will be strictly confidential between us.

Hoping you and the children will pay us that long promised visit this summer.

I am my dear friend, very sincerely yours,
Mother M. Edward, Sup. Gen.
