There was much excitement on January 23, 1999 when a panicking deer got into the Motherhouse by crashing through a window from the parking lot into the hallway that runs by the library to the Dining Room. The event was covered in an article in the Kingston Whig Standard, dated Wednesday January 27, 1999 and was also mentioned in the Congregational Annals.
Congregational Annals – January 23, 1999 – A wild deer came onto the Motherhouse property. The poor thing panicked and smashed through a window, injuring itself, and shocking all whom it encountered. Finally it was sedated and removed.
