Nov. 2, 1894 – To Sr. Mary of Providence Superior, Sisters of Providence of Holyoke MA from General Superior Sr. M. Edward, Kingston ON

House of Providence, Kingston
Nov. 2, 1894
Reverend Sr. M. of Proivdence

Your check for five hundred dollars ($500.00) received and in reply beg to say that “a payment at intervals” will not be quite satisfactory. The conditions are clearly stated in the letter from His Eminence Cardinal Ledochowski, namely “Seven thousand dollars to be paid within the space of seven years; one thousand dollars each year.”

If you are unable to remit the amount in this way, I will expect the interest on the amount that is not paid within each year.

Yours respectfully,
Mother M. Edward, Sup. Gen.
