Yours of the 16th inst. just at hand and in reply I beg respectfully to inform you that our Society is a Corporation, and we are known as The Sisters of Charity of the House of Providence Kingston.
We were incorporated in 74 under the Act Respecting Benevolent, Provident and other Societies, Section Number Five.
This letter is part of a large database of correspondence written by and to Catherine McKinley, who is considered one of the founders of the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul. As a Sister of Providence she was known by her religious name Mother Mary Edward.
