Feb. 1, 1895 – To Mr. White, Separate Schools Inspector, Toronto ON from General Superior Sr. M. Edward, Kingston ON

House of Providence, Kingston
Feb. 1, 1895
J.F. White,S.S. Inspector
Toronto, Ont.
Dear Sir:

Permit me respectfully to draw your kind attention to a little school matter which has doubtless escaped your notice.

You will remember that during your official visit in the City last May, His Grace, the Archbishop raised our little school [Providence Hall?] to the dignity of “Separate School,” and by your direction Mr. Brick, prin. of St. Mary’s School visited the class. Our reports have been sent twice under the title of St. James’ Separate School, but we have not received any Separate school allowance. I would feel extremely grateful if you could find time to look into the matter and let me know the results.

Thanking your for past kindnesses, I am very sincerely yours,
Mother M. Edward, Sup. Gen.
